As a homemaker, podcasts helped ease the loneliness that sometimes comes with stewarding the home. Here are the 9 best podcasts for the Christian homemaker.
With the rise of feminism and mom-shaming, I can often feel “less than” for CHOOSING to be a homemaker. I often get questions from family and others that are pretty discouraging. You know the ones.
I was actually once told by my aunt, “oh, you just don’t want to work and want to be lazy.” I’ve read of so many women hearing worse when they express a desire to stay home. Sadly, much of it comes from other women.

Why I Created This List
On the hard days, it can feel even more isolating because somehow, since homemakers choose to be home, we aren’t allowed to have feelings around challenging days.
Podcasts helped me feel connected and proud of my job and calling as a homemaker. Hearing other moms share in their struggles and joys without hearing the insensitive response, “well, you wanted to stay home so suck it up” was encouraging.
Motherhood is hard work. Whether you work outside the home, in the home, or choose homemaking as your full-time job.
9 Podcasts for the Modern Homemaker
This list of the 9 best podcasts for the Christian homemaker is for the woman who feels called to steward her home but wants to pursue her desires outside of homemaking as well.
1. Meant For This with Caroline J. Sumlin
The Meant For This podcast was the first podcast I listened to that spoke to my soul. It seems as if every episode is speaking directly to me on my struggles within my homemaking and my heart. This podcast is for the modern Christian mom that wants to free herself from burnout, pursue her calling to the home and outside of the home, and manage it all.
Caroline’s podcast is a hub for tools, resources, education, and inspiration. I cannot recommend Caroline’s podcast enough. She also has a monthly membership program, Meant for Motherhood Academy (MMA), that I recommend for any mama looking for a community of women that want to steward their calling to motherhood and more.
2. Mom Empowered with Jessica Ereddia
The Mom Empowered podcast is for the mom that struggles with anger and anxiety and wants to create a life of freedom and empowerment. Jessie’s podcast is a devotional style podcast and talks about challenges within motherhood that are often not discussed in the mainstream.
I discovered Mom Empowered when Jessie was a guest host on the Meant For This podcast with Caroline J. Sumlin. Jessie talked about her experience with postpartum rage and it was the first time I’d heard of postpartum rage. I knew immediately that it is what I had experienced after having both of my children. This is one you absolutely need to subscribe to.
Honest, raw, and authentic podcast for the Christian homemaker. Learn more about Jessie’s coaching services here.
3. Parenting Great Kids with Dr. Meg Meeker
If you know me personally, you know I enjoy researching and finding resources to gain a well-rounded and informed understanding of a topic. Dr. Meg Meeker is a pediatrician, mother, and author. I found her podcast doing what any loving mother does- google how to raise great kids, ha.
On the podcast, Dr. Meeker shares practical insights to help parents simplify their calling to parenthood. She speaks with experts and parents to tackle relevant issues and provides real answers to common questions. This podcast provides hope and encouragement to parents in a very simple way.
Great podcast, packed with very useful information.
4. Respectful Parenting- Unruffled with Janet Lansbury
Janet Lansbury is a Resources for Infant Educarer (RIE) Associate and certified parent/infant guidance class, instructor. In the podcast, Janet shares her experiences both as a parent and as a professional. I recommend this podcast as one of the best podcasts for the Christian homemaker if you want to go a different route with how you parent your children.
Raising children in a way that is respectful towards them is hard when we ourselves were raised a very different way. It can feel very frustrating and overwhelming when you desire to parent respectfully and peacefully, but lack tools and examples on the how-to aspect of it all.
If you want to break generational trauma and curses that come from authoritarian methods of parenting, subscribe to this podcast.
5. Risen Motherhood with Emily Jensen & Laura Wifler
Motherhood is hard work. With the messages the world sends about what motherhood is supposed to look like, it can be hard not to fall into the trap of feeling inadequate. Emily and Laura provide gospel truths to provide hope in the everyday moments of motherhood. Risen Motherhood was one of the first podcasts I began listening to. I have always felt called to biblical homemaking (no, really, since I was about 5 or 6 years old).
In a modern society where women are able to work outside the home, I felt small and insignificant in my decision to be a homemaker. I searched for tools and resources that focused on the honor of choosing to steward the home full time. Risen Motherhood is a refreshing podcast that addresses very real and common struggles in motherhood by providing Christ-centered hope.
I recommend their book, Risen Motherhood, as well.
6. Finding Joy in Your Home Podcast with Jami Balmet
The Finding Joy in Your Home podcast, previously known as the Homemaking Foundations Podcast, is another great podcast that shares tools, inspiration, and encouragement for homemakers creating a gospel-centered home. As I mentioned earlier, I felt called to homemaking when I was just a young child. And I didn’t feel this way just because of gender roles and messages telling little girls that they should get married and have babies when they get older.
Once becoming a wife at twenty-one and having our first child a year later, I knew I had to look outside of my demographics to find a support system. I needed a community of like-minded women who were passionate about stewarding the home as God saw fit. This podcast was the start of that support system and is definitely one of the best podcasts for the Christian homemaker.
7. Raising Arrows with Amy Roberts
For some families, a big part of homemaking includes homeschooling. In this podcast, Amy Roberts offers encouragement and hope for the busy mom. Amy’s podcast provides inspiration for the daily management of the home, as well as homeschooling with simple, practical, and guilt-free ideas.
It was important for me to find a podcast I could turn on while I cooked breakfast or folded laundry, that would provide tools and resources that catered to the homeschooling side of homemaking. I also wanted practical tips on how to do so while managing the home.
8. Read-Aloud Revival with Sarah Mackenzie
Next is another great podcast for homemakers, but especially the homeschooling moms is Read-Aloud Revival. Sarah Mackenzie’s podcast and best-selling book, The Read-Aloud Family, are some of my favorite resources.
I love books. And for a while, I resented reading due to the required reading and testing of pre-selected books that were of little to no interest to me.
Sarah talks about the value of reading aloud to your children, young and old, regularly. Sarah, a homeschooling mom of six, started the podcast to help parents nurture warm family relationships while raising children who love to read.
You can also visit Sarah’s website and find tools and resources for book recommendations and take a quiz to find out what your next read-aloud should be.
9. Simple Farmhouse with Lisa Bass
I found Lisa on her Youtube channel, Farmhouse on Boone, and shortly after I found her podcast. Lisa, a mom of six, shares all things food from scratch, natural living, and a handmade home in her farmhouse. Honestly, when I think of what a homemaker looks like, I think of Lisa! I get so many ideas and useful tips from this podcast. Not only does she run a homestead, but she also homeschools, and is an entrepreneur. Lisa’s blog provides for her entire family (financially). She also shares business and blogging success tips, as well as courses I can personally vouch for.
I simply enjoy listening to this podcast and knowing that the modern homemaker can find joy in all things homemaking and old-fashion skills. You can learn more about Lisa and her courses on her website.
So there you have it, the nine best podcasts for the Christian homemaker. I am so glad you stopped by the blog and I hope that these amazing podcasts serve and encourage you on your homemaking journey. You may also like my blog post, 10 Books for Homeschooling Parents!
